REMEMBER:
All project resources present and future are detailed here:
• Locals: drunkentyromancy.locals.com/post/5323758/welcome
I will update this welcome document and video in the future to make it a single article, but only after I have actually started using more of those publishing sites.

Intro:
So normally I would write something before recording, but this time I recorded first … and after many takes, finally had the right material, plus a quick edit before publishing, and now I am writing an associated article / post to go with the video.
So the video is up on YouTube, Rumble, and Telegram as usual, and this article will be on both Locals and Substack, but there is no longer enough spare upload per month on Locals for me to put any other videos there, so uploading further videos will have to wait until I have a much bigger audience and qualify for more uploads per month.

RODECaster Duo:
So far as the RODECaster Duo is concerned, and this should apply to the Pro II as well, a lot of the issues people seem to have probably come down to this same failure to properly explain anything which I had to solve in order to do those videos, and this combination of ambiguous and vague language, with various things just skipped over and not mentioned as well, leaves you unable to understand the underlying mechanics in order to apply the configuration methodology to any possible set of circumstances.
Basically it seems to come down to some hardware limitations, and while it may be possible for RODE to update the firmware and improve what it can do, we have no way of knowing what limitations exist, and whether or not they have any intention of actually doing it … all we know is that at present, it doesn’t always do what you expect, and it sometimes doesn’t do what it seems like it should be able to do.
Win10:
Microsoft have done their best to mess the situation up even further and make life harder for you, by doubling down on their commitment to never solving design flaws and bugs, but instead adding new ones, forcing you to adopt them, and then entrenching them in place … it seems to be something of a common suicidal attitude of the people in power across the west, whether by proxy war or commercial self sabotage, they seem to love bleeding from gun-shots to the foot … I do not know why, it makes no sense, but in the video I explain as best I can how to get around it.
OBS:
It doesn’t really matter whether you’re using OBS or something else for your recording and streaming, the fact is it will be limited by what Win10 or MacOS or Linux plus the RODECaster will actually let you do … but once you understand the issues above with the RODE and your operating system, you should then be able to figure out what to do in your recording and streaming software to make whatever sacrifices are necessary to get the best outcome possible for your equipment and available space.
Finally:
Good luck, I hope the videos help.
